This week’s Rewarding Moment comes from Anna Tomecek who joined MyPoints in April 2010 (or so long ago, she doesn’t remember how she discovered us…).
Her favorite way to earn is shopping and BonusMails.
Here is her story:
“I share this story with you to share my gratitude for making a proud old man happy.
My parents mean the world to me, not only are they wonderful but they are the best grandparents. My dad became ill with cancer many years ago and medically retired from his position with Ford. We were blessed, and his health got better with new normals.
As with so many with health issues this caused quite a financial burden with little left. My parents are proud older people who would be offended by an offer to help them financially. But they struggle so at the holidays to buy gifts for their grandchildren.
A few years back I had the great idea to share the Points I had earned through MyPoints. This was the beginning of a wonderful new tradition I share with my parents. We sit down at the kitchen table with my laptop and they pick out the gift cards they want to give as gifts using the Points that I had earned.
Some years they pick the Visa card and we go to the store and shop. Other years they pick the e-gift cards and give those.
Because of being a MyPoints member I am able to share with my parents without them feeling like we’re giving of our own, while getting to share in a whole new wonder experience with them as we shop for their gifts through MyPoints rewards.
