This twist on a cold-weather favorite takes less than an hour from prep to table and can earn you up to 513 Points!
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1/2 lb. hot Italian sausage
- 1 medium onion, chopped (earn 3 Points)
- 1 jar Bertolli Organic Marinara sauce (earn up to 510 Points)
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- Two 15-oz. cans cannellini beans, rinsed
- 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, drained/chopped
Optional toppings:
Grated Parmesan cheese, chopped Italian parsley or basil, drained/chopped giardiniera, sliced cherry peppers
Directions
Step 1: Heat oil in large pot on medium-high heat. Add meats; cook 6-8 minutes or until done, using wooden spoon to break up large pieces.
Step 2: Add onions; cook 3-4 minutes or until translucent, stirring frequently. Stir in sauce, broth, beans and roasted peppers. Cook 7-10 minutes or until heated through. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Sprinkle with optional toppings before serving.
