Recipe of the Week: Ham and Asparagus Strata

This hearty meal can be made in less than an hour and a half, serves 6 – 8 and can earn you up to 1,885 Points!


  • 10 slices white bread (earn 9 Points)
  • 1/2 C. Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening (earn up to 510 Points)
  • 1 lb. ham, cubed (earn up to 850 Points)
  • 1 lb. fresh asparagus, woody stems removed
  • 8 large eggs, beaten (earn 3 Points)
  • 3 C. whole milk (earn up to 510 Points)
  • 1 C. shredded cheddar cheese (earn 3 Points)
  • 1 C. shredded swiss cheese
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt


  1. SPRAY a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with no-stick cooking spray.
  2. BRUSH both sides of bread slices with melted shortening; cut bread into cubes. Place cubes in prepared baking dish.
  3. PLACE cubed ham on top of bread cubes. Top with asparagus pieces.
  4. MIX together remaining ingredients in large bowl. Pour over bread mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  5. HEAT oven to 350ºF. Uncover strata; bake 60 minutes or until golden brown and puffy. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
