We’re suckers for a love story at MyPoints so Debra Sullivan’s Rewarding Moment got us right in the feels.
Here is her story:
“In July 1999, I became a member of MyPoints through a promotional announcement by my favorite airline. Earlier that year, I had experienced a divorce followed by the accidental death of my brother and then my mother passing from leukemia. I used MyPoints as a small escape, and to my surprise one day, Points had added up to earn a restaurant gift card.
You could say I’ve evolved with MyPoints over the years, growing with a renewed sense of opportunity and adventure. As the internet expanded and many merchants added, my online purchasing dramatically increased along with taking surveys, watching videos and participating in other activities.
In the meantime after such heartache earlier in 1999, who knew that I would reunite with my old high school sweetheart whom I hadn’t seen in 30 years! We married soon thereafter, and he’s been a champ about how much time I devote to MyPoints. Who wouldn’t since shopping, dining out, airline travel and hotel nights are oftentimes free! Rodney and MyPoints came into my life about the same time and at the right time 20 years ago.
It has been a beautiful ride, and one could say MyPoints is part of our family!”
