Some of our members have been with MyPoints almost from the beginning like Liz Boylan who has stuck with us for over 20 years!
Here is her story:
“It is hard to believe, but MyPoints has been a part of my life for over 20 years. My life has changed so much during these years, I can’t possibly pick just one rewarding moment over another. It would be like asking me to choose one child as favorite over the other! Or asking me to pick just one favorite memory! It’s not possible! I can’t even really pick a favorite color. I love the color blue and I love the color yellow, but if you really press and say I can only pick one –It would have to be green because it combines both blue and yellow!
It all started when I got my first computer just after I got sick in 1992. I started using it to stay in touch with the outside world and to find ways to help things financially whenever possible. I first started with MyPoints in 1999 and my baby girl was four years old! My son Bobby was ten and already in school. I am utterly amazed by how much time has passed.
Being a Mom and taking care of the family was always a joy for me and MyPoints helped make the good times and the hard times sparkle a little brighter. There have been so many redemptions over the years and they have changed in nature just as the years have changed in seasons. Sometimes it has been for the necessities and sometimes it has been for the extras and luxuries in life.
My mind wanders over the years and remembers so many different enhancements made possible by MyPoints. Staples gift cards for school supplies while the kids were in school. A new backpack or new school shoes for the first day of school. I remember my baby girls first day of school like it was yesterday. Thank goodness I had been able to buy two new outfits! She was so excited waiting for her first bus ride she got sick all over her dress. We rushed inside and changed outfits making it back to the bus stop before the bus arrived!
We also celebrated many a Christmas and Birthday that were enhanced and made better than they would or could be with Visa gift cards, Kohl’s gift cards, Walmart gift cards, as well as several other retailers all made possible by MyPoints It has been a roller coaster of good years and bad years; healthy years and not so well years. My marriage ended about ten years ago, I went back to school part time to learn more about computers and enhance my skills. That meant more school supplies but this time for me!
The children are grown now and living their own lives. I have changed email addresses and mailing addresses over the years. This redemption I am planning now is to help with my son’s birthday present. He turns 31 years old this month! I am still in amazement over that! MyPoints has helped in so many ways over these years! So many years and so many points! Thank you MyPoints for being there all these years!”
