Friday Round-Up: Canceled Edition

Along with the dearly departed MyPoints Monthly Goals, here are some other things that have been canceled this week:

Working from home during a pandemic has helped athleisure retailers, but professional clothing retailers? Not so much. Workwear sellers like Brooks Brothers and Ann Taylor are struggling and even filing for bankruptcy as COVID-19 has canceled office clothing according to CNN Business.

Also from CNN Business is an update on Cow Appreciation Day, unfortunately also a victim of COVID-19. Scheduled to occur on July 14th, it has been canceled due to safety concerns.

Wearing a mask is an easy and effective way to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus but the requirement has led to many protests and viral videos of Karens and Kevins who don’t want to inhibit their freedom germs. Like this Florida man who lost his job after being captured on video yelling folks in Costco for requesting he wear a mask as detailed in this story by People.com.

PBS.org reports on the Twitter backlash against Goya Food CEO for praising Donald Trump is creating a #BoycottGoya movement as the largely Hispanic customer base of the company has been frequently villainized by the President.

And while Ketchup Ice Cream might not be canceled, it definitely should be. This article from The Takeout reports on Heinz ice cream kits which includes ketchup, mayo, salad dressing, barbecue and “saucy sauce.”

Ugh. No. Just no.

Have a great weekend!
